Each Wednesday I will begin the day by drawing a divination card for inspiration and posting it here.
With a few words from my intuition, I will give you something to think about for your day and week.
Use the card as a writing prompt, or simply something to reflect on.
*I pick these cards at random, by shuffling a deck, and allowing a card to fall out on its own accord. Whilst shuffling, I ask God to show me what I need to see for this post, and all who read it. It may not resonate with you and that is ok – this is just my offering to you who reads this, it is sent with love and best wishes. Take what feels right for you, and leave what does not, for another.
*
So I am going to be real with you, I am struggling at the moment.
I am struggling with my health mainly, which is therefore making other problems seem insurmountable.
I say I am struggling, and yet movement forward is still on my mind, and does still appear to be happening.
What I am struggling against is not necessarily an outside block.
I am actually struggling against myself.
Those of you who read the previous post: When you feel blocked, will know the theme of self sabotage came up, and will be the subject of Saturday’s post.
It is interesting that today’s Wednesday Wisdom card, pertains to the same thing.
(The Novice card from Wisdom of Avalon Oracle Cards, by Colette Baron Reid)
The Novice is ready to go. He is ready to step forward into the new, perhaps with just a little too much gusto.
You can just imagine him scaling the mountain that may be just up ahead on his path, followed by fallen trees, and gusts of wind, and rain, and snow and…
Eventually he will burn out, because enthusiasm can only take you so far.
*
When you first realise how much power you hold as an individual, you can think that you are invincible.
You have identified a path, a goal or an ambition and you have the motivation to carry it through, yet you are a novice.
When you make a change and start out afresh, it is as though you are starting out at life again, for the very first time.
You are a baby in terms of your new direction, and though that may come with fearless ambition and drive – It may also result in facing obstacles you had not even considered.
Sure you may be ready to face the mountain up ahead, the rain, the snow. You have faced all of these before after all.
What may shock and surprise you, is the obstacles that you will face within your own being. That you may never have faced before.
I had no idea that stubbornness can be disguised as determination.
I had no idea that pleasing others can be masking an inability, to take responsibility for yourself.
Starting out as a novice, will bring all the things inside of you that need attention, up to the surface.
You think you are storming forwards into new physical territory, and yes you may well be. More importantly though, and not always so obvious, is that you are moving forward into areas of yourself previously unchartered. This can be terrifying, and lead to a lot of resistance.
You can totally imagine the Novice above, hurtling things out of the way with that stick of his. Things he may not feel that he needs anymore.
Similarly you can see by the expression on his face, how much he is holding on to that very same stick.
He is not letting his defences down easy, he is not letting anything get in his way – and yet, his over reliance on that stick may be his downfall.
Because you see, when we are starting out down a new path, there are things we try to get rid of, and there are things we try to hold on to.
What we think we need to let go of, we may actually need to hold onto, and vice versa.
The ‘stick’ in our life, may be something that can support us moving forward, or the ‘stick’ in our life may need to be let go of, so that we can move more freely.
We have a cloak, a bag and some sturdy shoes on this journey, in the form of things that will never leave, that can always be relied on. This frees us up to analyse what that ‘stick’ is really for.
Has the stick become a crutch?
The above quote also pertains to situations.
*
Sometimes as a novice it can be confusing to really work out what is going on.
What is best for us, what is not.
Our determination to move forward can blind us to what we really want.
So the solution?
Take it slow during times of change.
Give yourself time to integrate changes fully.
Be open to assessing obstacles in front of you, and within you.

I actually pulled 3 cards for this Wednesday Wisdom – The second is:
(The Earth Faery, Wisdom of Avalon Oracle Cards, by Colette Baron Reid)
The Earth Faery is about grounding ourselves. Anchoring in nature. The faery has butterfly wings – she is in a moment of transformation, yet still needs an element of the cocoon.
Though we are ready to fly, stability is needed.
Getting out in nature is always a great way to ground ourselves. Here are some more tips:

The final card is :
(Love, Wisdom of Avalon cards, by Colette Baron Reid)
The steps to love are littered with leaves and weeds. That does not make the experience of love any less beautiful.
I have a recent post on love here.
This ‘ Love’ card reminds us that it is important to always meet ourselves and others on that highest vibration of all.
You can let go with love, you can hold on for love – just make sure you are doing it for the right reasons.
Much love Txx
