One of the blessings that comes with letting new people into your life, is that you can be the ‘current you’ with them more easily.
By ‘current you’ – I mean the person you are right now. The person who has been shaped by relationships, bereavements, changes of location, and changes in career.
The ‘you’ that friends from years ago, or family members, may struggle to understand.
See ‘meeting new people’ is not just a closet way of saying you want a romantic partner.
Meeting new people is an important and necessary part of life.
(The Tribe – Wisdom of the Oracle Deck, by Colette Baron Reid)
Finding your tribe is talked about a lot these days, and I guess that is part of the discourse I’m entering.
Find the people who align with your current values and dreams.
You can motivate each other, rest with each other and understand each other.
This obviously does not mean dump all those who don’t – but do be aware of those
you have mentally left in the past.
Can you bring them with you?
Or should you let your paths diverge?
As one of my favorite spiritual advisers says:
“People are in our lives for a season, a reason or a lifetime”
-Iyanla Vanzant
Keep cultivating new relationships, whether they be romantic or not.
I guarantee welcoming the new, will help shape your path.
Much love Txx
