Part One and Two saw us discuss the main principles of Ayurveda, and we took a brief look at the concept of Dosha.
This post is going to focus on the Dosha called Vata.
If you took the test that was linked in Part Two, you will be able to tell what your primary Dosha is.
If your primary Dosha is Vata then you will usually have some of the following qualities:
- A slight build
- Dry Skin/hair
- Light sleeper
- Sensitive digestion
You will crave new experiences, and will be an energetic communicator.
Sometimes our Doshas will become unbalanced, for many reasons including life changes, or stress for example.
Signs of an imbalance in Vata would be :
- Anxiety
- Insomnia
- Problems feeling grounded
- Bad digestion
- Weight loss
To help keep your Vata in balance, you could try a few of the following things:
- Light exercise like Yoga, Tai Chi or Walking.
- Ginger Tea
- Cooked Vegetables and Dry Fruit
- Spices like Cardamon, Cinnamon and Cumin
*Please don’t just take my word for it, I am not a doctor or a nutritionist, don’t change your lifestyle drastically without professional help.
