Do you sometimes feel as though life is talking to you through symbols and pictures?
The more poetry I write, and the more I work with Tarot and Oracle cards – I understand that the world is speaking to us at all times through the things we see.
We are receiving messages from the universe each and everyday – all we need to do is pay attention.
So over the last few months I have been compiling a set of photographs I’ve taken of these moments.
Lets do this:
So I got my niece to take the picture of me above for the post I recently published about Meditation and Yoga.
It wasn’t until I was thinking about putting together this piece, that I realised how similar it is to the Breathe card from the Wisdom of the Oracle Deck by Colette Baron Reid.
One of my favourite cards in that deck, the number 29 is my birthdate.
These last few weeks, I have intuitively been feeling the need to meditate more, to go within, and touch base with my inner self on a more regular basis.
This picture and card confirm that this is a time for me to go within.
I took this picture of a tree in a park in North West London, I was struck by how majestic and strong the tree’s energy felt, even though it was virtually barren. It was proud and defiant.
Though some branches were bare, others were blooming.
It was a tree about breaking into the new, despite the trying circumstances.
It looks exactly like the tree in the Regeneration Card, in the Wisdom of the Oracle Deck by Colette Baron Reid.
Again, it reminds me of myself right now. Almost starting again from the ground up.
I talked about this in the last Wednesday Wisdom post.
“The masks we wear.”
That is the phrase I hear when I look at the Deception card from The Romance Angels Oracle, by Doreen Virtue.
Recently I went on a hen party that was masquerade themed, so I took a picture of one of the masks.
It fascinates me that a lot of the time, whether we are aware of it or not – we can be interacting with ourselves, or with others from a place of falsity.
Not being true to who we are, not presenting ourselves authentically.
Taking off that mask is something I am working on in my life right now, turning up as I really am in strength and humility, trusting that it is safe to do so.
I often receive the Patience card in the Archangel Oracle deck by Doreen Virtue.
Taking things slowly is not something that I am accustomed to. I want to make things happen as quickly as possible.
Lately I am learning the value of slow and steady .
I took this picture of the watering can in my mum’s garden, she spends a lot of time in the garden watering the plants, and patiently tending to the vegetables and fruit that she is growing.
Growing a crop successfully can often take years.
Observing this lesson in nature, has helped me to understand that sometimes the best things in life take a long time to come to fruition.
One of the most positive cards in the Tarot is the Sun card. Here above we have The Sun, from the Rider Waite Smith Tarot.
I took the picture of the Sun on the right, from a piece of artwork, at a hospital in West London.
It is actually a mosaic made out of colourful tiles.
Such an optimistic piece of art work to place in a hospital.
The Sun provides sustenance for all forms of life. It lights the way for all to see, it is a symbol of hope and joy.

What symbols do you see in everyday life? What are they trying to tell you?
