I just wanted to share with you a lovely time spent with my wonderful mother yesterday going through her perfume drawer.
My mum is a very glamorous lady with mountains of clothes and shoes she’s amassed over the years.
I inherited a love for perfume from her, and often sneakily borrow/take a number of bottles from her room.
Yesterday she revealed that her real special perfumes were hidden away in a drawer that I’d never seen!
Well, needless to say we opened that drawer and I felt like I’d died and gone to heaven.
She had classics in there like Channel No.5, and Obsession, as well as more unique but equally as luxurious fragrances.
Some bottles had barely been used!
I came across one that when I sprayed and sniffed – it smelt like seduction itself.
It got me thinking…when did we all stop being so glamorous?
Have we stopped?
It certainly feels like it sometimes.
Glamour is not just a female thing, for sure it’s for men too.
It’s about feeling spectacular inside and out, something I feel that we have lessened in our society with fast fashion and fast connections.
As someone who wholeheartedly believes the most beautiful thing about any of us is our soul, I also believe in the slow indulgence of the body from time to time.
The earthy grounded energy that scent catches so well.
Much love Txx
