I have noticed something.
When nothing appears to be happening, when you feel a temporary ‘lull’ in your life –
Maybe you are waiting for something, and you have taken all the action you can.
Maybe you are stuck on a decision and cannot see the clearest way.
Maybe things are only just bearable and you are struggling.
With all of the above examples and many more, the hardest, yet most productive thing to do, is to accept where you are.
This came to me in a Meditation session the other night.
I feel so much peace when I meditate, it reminds me that in the present moment, worry and angst do not need to exist.
I have noticed in my life that whenever I am in unfamiliar territory, doing nothing leads me out of that in the most peaceful and swift way.
Don’t believe me?
Try it.
Next time you are overthinking something, trying to work it out – try and leave it to one side and carry on with everything else that your life is full of.
When you least expect it, the issue will be resolved and/or you will increasingly feel able to let go until it is.
This may seem really hard for you to even think about doing, and trust me – it has taken many years of spiritual work and meditation to get to this place where I can accept.
I sometimes wrestle, but then I fall back into acceptance.
Acceptance simply means accepting things as they are, without judgement and blame.
It is easier to come by when you are sure you have done all you can and that it is time to let others, God, The Universe take over.
The serenity prayer sums this up perfectly:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference
There is a feminine, Yin, power in acceptance that is not to be underestimated.
Surrender and forgiveness are some of the most healing tools we can learn.
Is there anything you can work on accepting today?
This is not in anyway about accepting situations that are bad for you. The key is to work out what you can do to change things and work on accepting what you can’t.
Much love Txx
